A BIKE CLUB THAT SUPPORTS THE MENTAL HEALTH OF HOMELESSS AND LOW INCOME CHILDREN
In June, thanks to the support of community members and Mr. Howard Stanley, our organization was able to provide 40 bikes to homeless and low-income children in the community, and officially launch our bike club. Cycling is great for the mental and physical health of children. The Bike Club is helping children connect with one another, enjoy nature and speak freely about some of the issues that they are facing. The Bike Club is also helping them develop new skills. Over the past two months, our Bike Club has really helped foster the mental and physical wellness of the children. They are having a lot of fun while sharing stories and encouraging each other.
"I did not own a bike before. It feels great to own a bike and to make new friends!" - Abdi (6 years old).
