Equal Chance
A success story: A mother finds a home, went back to school and graduated this week!

Many of you may remember the story of Judith Nlenzo, a hard working single mother who resided at the Tabor building shelter struggling to make ends meet. She had been residing inside a building infected with all sorts of pests while trying to provide for her family and find their forever home.
Last year, during the pandemic, her children benefited from our Headphones program which allowed them to be able to study from home.
Our team advocated for Judith and actively helped her look for home across Ottawa. We made several calls to the city and with the help of the City of Ottawa's housing department, we were able to find her a home in the private market.
Last year, Judith and her children were able to move to a better place and start a new life. Judith wanted to ensure that her family never goes through the trauma that they previously endured. She asked us to support her in her job search and expressed her dream to go back to school.
She registered at the Cite Collegiale and on June 16, 2022, she graduated and his now a medical processing technician. She completed her internship at the Riverside Hospital on June 10, 2022.
Please join us in congratulating Judith!
Our organization continues to support Ms. Nlenzo and her children through our programs.
