Equal Chance COVID-19: Meals, Food & Groceries Assistance for Seniors, Families and Individuals

Updated: May 10, 2020

Dear members of the community, we understand that this is a very challenging time for a lot of us; therefore we will deliver food to families, (Seniors) Elders or any individual who needs it. We can all use a bit of help. We are working with two other groups in Ottawa to deliver free food/groceries to those who need it. We want to make sure that no one in our community ever fears not having food in this difficult time. We also want to make sure that you are all well.

We are happy to announce that we have launched the Meals For Hope initiative in collaboration with three local restaurants: Pili Pili, Baccanalle, Hometown Sports Grill and local organizations. Please visit www.mealsforhope.org to fill out the meals or food box request form.

Our Elders (Seniors) and people living with a disability need us more than ever. As we were distributing free groceries for the past weeks, we came across Elders (Seniors) and people living with a disability who, although they appreciate the food boxes, informed us that cooking is difficult for them.

We also continue to deliver free grocery boxes to families and individuals who need it most. We are also currently assisting Seniors and people living with a disability who need help with obtaining their medication. Our volunteer can pick up medication for them.

Once a week, we make deliveries to Front-Line workers who put their lives at risk so that we can stay safe.

We have joined forces with a group of local restaurants to better assist vulnerable members of our society who are unable to cook due to physical restrictions and some of our front-liners who are working hard every day so that we can remain safe.          As you all know, the COVID-19 crisis has affected a lot of people who were already facing great challenges.

The Cooked Meals program "For our Vulnerable loved ones, with love" will allow us to support ALL people who needs it most and encourage local restaurants partaking in this initiative.

If you know a person who can benefit from these services, please refer them to our website or contact us and it will be our pleasure to serve them: https://www.mealsforhope.org/requests

Remember that this shall pass! Let's stay resilient, positive and let's continue to support and help one another.
