Two women will receive 1000$ to boost their project, idea or business.

THE EQUAL CHANCE TEAM

1. The EMPOWHER Grant for Black women.

The EMPOWHER Grant is designed to empower Black women by providing financial support for their innovative projects, ideas, or businesses. We recognize the immense potential and resilience of Black women leaders who are making significant contributions to their communities. This grant aims to amplify their voices, foster their initiatives, and create pathways for sustainable success.

Grant Objectives:

• Empowerment: To support Black women in bringing their visions to life.

• Leadership: To recognize and elevate women who are leading impactful community initiatives.

• Sustainability: To promote projects that contribute to the long-term growth and health of their communities.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Applicant Requirements:

   • Must identify as a Black woman.

   • Must be 18 years of age or older.

   • Must be a resident of the community where the project will be implemented.

2. Project Criteria:

   • The project, idea, or business must demonstrate a clear impact on the community.

   • Preference will be given to projects that address issues such as education, health, economic empowerment, social justice, or community development.

   • Projects should have a feasible plan for sustainability and growth.

3. Leadership Role:

   • The applicant should demonstrate a history of leadership within their community, whether through previous projects, volunteer work, or advocacy.

   • Provide examples of community engagement, collaboration, or initiatives led.

4. Financial Need:

   • Applicants should provide a budget outlining how the grant funds will be used and letter explaining the need for this grant.

5. Application Requirements:

   • Completed application form.

   • A project proposal (1 to 3 pages maximum) detailing the project, objectives, target audience, and expected outcomes/ or detailing your activities/projects/achievements in the community. Please email it to operations@equalchance.ca

   • A letter of recommendation letter or support letter.

   • Funding Details:

• Grant amounts is 1,000$.

• Grant recipients will also receive access to mentorship, networking opportunities, and resources to further their initiatives.
