SUPPORTING BLACK GIRLS BECAUSE IT'S THE RIGHT THING TO DO!
Dear Community Members,
We are grateful to team up with the PR Alliance to offer 4 grants to Black girls across Canada between the age of 10 and 17. Each girl will receive a 500$ micro grant.
For each grant, please send one reference letter to : operations@equalchance.ca

THE EQUAL CHANCE TEAM
1. The LEADHER Grant for Young Leaders
Description:
The LEADHER Grant aims to empower young girls who demonstrate leadership potential and a passion for making a positive impact in their communities. This grant will support projects that focus on leadership development, community service, and advocacy.
Criteria:

Applicants must be between the ages of 10 and 17.

Demonstrated commitment to leadership through past activities or initiatives.

Proposed project must aim to benefit the community or address a social issue.

A letter of recommendation from a mentor or community leader is required.
2. The Changemaker Grant
Description:
The Changemaker Grant is designed for young girls who are actively working to create social change. This grant supports projects that aim to address social issues, promote equity, and inspire others to take action.
Criteria:

Open to girls aged 10-17.

Clear identification of a social issue the project will address.

A plan outlining how the project will create meaningful change.
-
Collaboration with peers or community organizations is encouraged.

Applicants must submit a project timeline and budget.
3. The Media Grant
Description:
The Media Grant supports young girls who wish to explore the world of media, journalism, or digital storytelling. This grant is aimed at projects that promote awareness and understanding of important social issues through creative media.
Criteria:

Applicants must be between 10 and 17 years old.

Proposed project should involve creating media content (articles, videos, podcasts, etc.) that raises awareness about a specific issue.

Applicants should demonstrate an understanding of the topic they wish to cover.

Previous experience in media or journalism is a plus but not mandatory.
4. The Creative Grant
Description:
The Creative Grant encourages young girls to express themselves through artistic and creative projects. This grant supports initiatives in visual arts, performing arts, music, or any other creative medium that reflects their unique voices and perspectives.
Criteria:

Open to girls aged 10-17.

The proposed project should showcase the applicant's creative talents (art, music, theater, etc.).

Applicants must provide a portfolio or examples of previous work (if applicable).

Projects should aim to inspire others or foster community engagement through art.
Each grant will provide funding to help bring the applicants' visions to life, as well as mentorship and support throughout the project. We believe that by empowering young girls, we can create a brighter and more equitable future for all.
